On Monday the Year 5 students shared a wonderful Remembrance Day Prayer assembly. This was a wonderful service where all students prayed for all those who have lost lives and been involved in the various conflicts around the world. We all spent a few minutes in silence reflecting and praying.
A reminder that the P&F and Board AGM is held later this Term on Tuesday the 28th November at 7pm in the school hall. This will be followed by refreshments . All staff, parents and friends are very welcome to attend.
Outstanding School Fees
It is important that all outstanding 2017 school fees and levies are finalised prior to the P&F/BOARD AGM. Your attention to this matter is appreciated.
Code of Conduct
Each fortnight we focus on a conduct statement. This week I have included Conduct statement 6.
You treat personal information about members of the school community as private and confidential.
If a third party asks for access to personal information, you must take reasonable steps to confirm the identity of the third party, and that it is lawful to disclose the information to them. You must inform the member of the school community that you have disclosed their personal information unless you are satisfied that there are legal reasons for not doing so.
You seek advice if you identify a conflict between protecting personal information and any resulting risk to the safety and well-being of a student.
You create and keep accurate records of conversations about significant decisions involving the safety and well-being of students.
The Spiritual Ministry invites you to be a part of our Annual St Vinnie's Christmas Appeal.
Christmas should be a time full of joy and celebration, but for many families it highlights the everyday struggle they are experiencing to keep basic necessities such as food on the table and a roof over their heads. Every child deserves the magic of Christmas, however these families simply don’t have the means to buy Christmas gifts or put on a family feast for their children to enjoy. By donating non-perishable food items, supermarket gift cards and Christmas treats, you’ll be helping families enjoy a special Christmas and ease some of their financial burden heading into 2018.
Each classroom will have a basket to fill with items. We would like every child in the school to bring in at least three items for their class basket.
Please support the Spiritual Ministry in making a difference to families in need this Christmas.
Last day of banking and last day to order rewards.
We would like to thank all of our students who have participated in the CommBank School Banking program this year.
Our final School Banking day for 2017 will be WEDNESDAY 29TH NOV. If your child is eligible to order a reward item the last day for ordering is on WEDNESDAY 22ND NOV. All tokens that have not been redeemed this year can be used in 2018.
On FRIDAY 17TH we will be announcing our winner of the $20 voucher. If you have banked this year your name will go into the draw. For every first time you have banked you will gain another entry. Also we have plenty of prizes to give away to our bankers as well.
Thank you to all of the banking families for your ongoing support, teaching your child about money and saving and a life learnt lesson!
THURSDAY 7TH DECEMBER – Pasta orders to be collected from Canteen
ICE CREAM FRIDAY
Ice Creams are back again this Friday for all students to purchase. They have been such a hit so far so don’t miss out. Paddle Pops are $1 and Icy Poles 50c.
CLASS REPS 2018
Please have a chat amongst your class groups and think about volunteering to be a class rep for 2018. It really isn’t a big job at all; some social get togethers and passing on communication from the P&F. It is a great way to get to know other parents and bring everyone together. If you could let your current class rep know if you are interested.
To finish off the year we will be doing a final run of the pasta with Golden Ravioli. Orders will need to be submitted by Monday 27th November in time for collection by the end of term. All details are in the attached flyer and an order form is enclosed with the newsletter.

St Vincent de Paul Society is seeking people to join their volunteer team.
Your efforts will help to support their good works, such as the provision of bedding, clothing and food to those experiencing hardship, and providing shelter for the homeless. In turn, you can enjoy a range of benefits proven to be associated with volunteering, such as an increase in well-being, happiness, health and longevity!
There a number of diverse, interesting and stimulating roles available, at a range of locations, on a range of different time commitments. To name a few, you could try your hand at sorting material donations, providing customer service in our retail stores, assisting truck drivers to collect donations, assembling furniture and helping with store displays.
